  • Not   ADVICE GIVING

  • Not   TELLING A SIMILAR STORY ABOUT YOURSELF 

  • Not   BEING WHO YOU AREN’T

  • Not   ENDLESS

So now we can understand what empathy really is:

Empathy is the ability to emotionally understand what other people are feeling, to see things from their point of view, and to imagine yourself in their place. While people are generally pretty well-attuned to their own feelings and emotions, getting into someone else's head can be a bit more difficult.

 

The ability to feel empathy permits people to understand the emotions that others are feeling. By eliminating typical reactions and better understanding the short steps to empathy, we can really start to see the kind of power it can unlock in you and others.
